Hello! My name is Yoey. I’m an artmaker living in Arizona, USA.

I started practicing brush calligraphy in February 2023. I discovered that I could do art that I never thought I could do. Then I found a way to create a typeface on an app called FontSelf. I had fun tinkering with that app, making font templates and eventually creating my own typeface.

I’ve spent the past several months trying different art mediums and they’ve helped me figure out what I enjoy doing most.

Though I enjoy both analog and digital hand lettering, I keep coming back to digital calligraphy and typeface design.

I love colour blending letters in the Procreate app on my iPad.

I love decorating letters and adding beautiful blooming backgrounds with my digital brushes.

I’m fascinated by typography and how it can have a positive impact on how people feel. This is how I choose to share my messages of hope, by creating beautiful words.
